Farmcraft® is an educational program that uses Minecraft to enhance the understanding of the
challenges faced by agricultural producers and distributors around the world. The program is open to
all ages but is designed to supplement the learning of students ranging from 8-18 years of age.
Farmcraft is a challenge using the popular game of Minecraft. It focuses on food trade, food security,
and alternative methods of agriculture. Participants will join a virtual challenge while learning about
the choices that farmers must make before even planting their crops!

Farmcraft 2024 is focused on building food security through alternative agriculture methods such
as vertical or hydroponic farming, plus incorporating digital technology into food systems. This year,
we’re asking the question “How do you grow more with less?” Participants also determine who they
will sell it to and how they can get their crops to market. Winners will be selected based on
quantifiable metrics (yield, environmental effects) within the competition biomes.

Georgia Farmcraft will be a state-specific program embedded in the larger, global program. It will include Georgia-specific pre-season challenges, live-streams, competition, awards.
